Marathon Elections:
In 2016, Donald Trump had barely won a nail-biting election. He might have only been a part-time Floridian but a Floridian none the less, and probably the first person from Florida in the Oval Office.

I did not vote. (However I am fairly sure that I would have at least considered voting for The Donald if I had voted). Nor did I participate in watching the results. (I opted instead for watching season 3 of the The Flash, a little bit of SmackDown Live and also The Weather Channel's "Escape The Election" program which lulled me off to sleep).

Right now, I am not only a bit disgruntled with, I am also done with keeping up with marathon elections and nasty national politics. From here on out, I may or may not continue to vote nationally. Maybe I should exercise my right to vote at the local level only. My religious about face has been of a higher priority on my list these days.

Really, what more can we do?

Opinion
<div><span =""  style="font-size:100%;">We want everything, subconsciously apparently, yet we are unwilling to devise intelligent ways to invest in our own unique American future. Especially if it involves those various "others" getting their hands on rights and privileges we feel that only we deserve. In America, when any one "group" fails, we all fail. Let's get everyone on board and watch our future soar!</span></div>

Regionalism
When most people think of South Florida, "the Magic City," Miami, comes to mind. Over the past 2 decades, however, via rapid residential growth and the government's methodology for recording statistics, this region overall has added more counties and could come to include a total of 16 counties. To the north: Indian River, St. Lucie, Martin. In the middle: Palm Beach, Broward, Miami-Dade. To the south: Monroe. In the future: Collier and other counties to the north and west. Combined, these counties span across four regions - the Treasure Coast, the Gold Coast, the Florida Keys and Everglades National Park - with 300 miles of coastline and over 7000 square miles of land. With regionalism steadily progressing, in America and around the world, Southeast Florida's cities, counties and towns have worked quickly, efficiently and cooperatively to establish themselves economically in this part of the world. Through education, transit systems, scientific innovation and local government, this has been done. My blog, The Lost Paradise Journal, is simply a non-professional casual observer's mission to witness those hard at work on these goals in their efforts to make our state, and our region, a better place to live and work. Not to mention: For recreaton, for going to school and for owning a small business.
